Talk therapy

There's no one-size-fits-all therapy. Your therapy should be as unique as you are. For that reason, I believe therapy should be collaborative and creative. My goal is to offer unwavering support as you work towards your personal growth and aspirations.

I work with people of all ages and abilities, but have particular enthusiasm and expertise in working with:

  • People who experience anxiety or perfectionism

  • Parents who want to parent differently from their own upbringing and parents of children with more significant needs

  • Those who've experienced trauma situations, including childhood trauma

  • Neurodivergent individuals (Autism, ADHD)

  • People who are going through life transitions or are exploring their identity

  • First responders and medical professionals

 FAQs

  • We will spend our initial time together discussing what brought you here, what you want to achieve, and how we can work together to reach these goals. I provide a non-judgmental space where we can begin to unlock insight into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In my journey as a psychologist, I have come to recognize the ways in which our past life events shape our current relationships and daily lives. So therapy often moves between past experiences and current stressors to find how it's all connected. I recognize that therapy is most importantly about connection, so I hope to provide a setting where you can be your real self and experience a meaningful therapeutic relationship.

  • My work in schools and EMDR training guide my therapy practice. I like to look at the big picture, find the patterns, and notice the negative beliefs we all have about ourselves that get in the way of our own progress. Sometimes, we are able to quickly move past negative beliefs or events in our lives and, other times, we need more skills. I have advanced clinical training in trauma focused therapy, including EMDR, to help people get past those stuck points in their lives. Sessions can integrate talk therapy, EMDR, CBT, and/or mindfulness techniques.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) works by accessing the brain's natural healing abilities to process difficult life events or traumatic memories. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR is an experiential approach that incorporates sensations, emotions, and mental imagery, instead of just focusing on what you're able to verbalize. This facilitates a deeper connection between the mind and the body to ensure that people tap into their internal experiences, instead of just telling the story. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD or trauma, EMDR therapy can help you move through stuck body sensations, feelings, or negative beliefs and provide you with new tools for emotional resilience.

  • Individual session fees are $350/45-minute sessions.

I do not accept insurance. However, a portion of these services may be covered if you have Out-of-Network benefits. Please check your coverage plan to determine reimbursement rates for mental health services. I will provide you with a monthly invoice (i.e., Superbill) to submit directly to your insurance for reimbursement.
