Adult Autism Evaluations
Many adults who believe they are Autistic or have ADHD may have been undiagnosed or misdiagnosed in childhood. While self-diagnosis is valid, there are times that a more thorough assessment can help to differentiate possible diagnoses, confirm self-diagnosis, or support accommodations. To that end, I provide Autism and ADHD assessments for adults. Special care is taken to ensure that the evaluation is sensitive to aspects of these diagnoses that are often overlooked in women, people of color, and transgender/gender nonconforming people. Accommodations can be made to the testing process to support your speech/language abilities or attentional needs.

Do you conduct virtual evaluations?
Yes, I provide evaluations in person in Downtown Brooklyn or virtually for those in other parts of New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
How much does an evaluation cost?
Evaluations for Autism and ADHD cost $2500 for these areas of functioning. If further testing would be beneficial (e.g., language comprehension), additional assessments can be added and the associated fee will be discussed at the time of the intake.
How long does an evaluation take?
An evaluation typically takes four to six hours and can be split up into multiple sessions. Most people prefer to do a session per week, which can mean that it takes about a month to complete the evaluation.
Do you provide Autism evaluations for children?
I currently do not conduct Autism evaluations for those under the age of 18.
What is included in an Autism evaluation?
I use a structured interview (called the MIGDAS-2) and will ask you questions about your childhood and your current sensory, language, social, and emotional functioning. I may also ask you to fill out rating scales by email or during sessions to gather more information. We will then meet to discuss the results.
Will my insurance reimburse for an evaluation if I have out of network benefits?
